Young Investigator Awards

iSBTc promotes growth and achievement amongst young investigators in the field of cancer biologics. In 2007, iSBTc will offer several Young Investigator Awards recognizing excellence in iSBTc Annual Meeting oral abstract and poster presentations. Be sure to check the award eligibility box when submitting abstracts online to be considered for one of these Young Investigator Awards.

Eligibility

To qualify for a Young Investigator Award, the presenting author must meet the young investigator criteria. iSBTc defines young investigators as: students, post-doctoral fellows-in-training, or junior faculty (instructor or assistant professor) with three or less years on staff.

Presidential Awards

Four abstracts submitted in any category and authored by young investigators (defined above) will be selected for a 20-minute oral presentation during the Presidential Session held on Saturday, November 3, 2007. Of those abstract presenters, all will receive Presidential Travel Awards and one will be selected as the 2007 Presidential Award winner. Judging of the presentations will be done by a committee composed of executive members of the iSBTc Board of Directors.

(1) Presidential Award winner receives:

  • $1,000 Honorarium
  • Up to $1,000 in Travel Reimbursement
  • 1-Year Membership in iSBTc
  • Commemorative Presidential Award Plaque
  • Poster Ribbon noting the awardee as the "Presidential Award Winner"

(3) Presidential Travel Award winners receive:

  • Up to $750 in Travel Reimbursement
  • 1-Year Membership in iSBTc
  • Presidential Award Candidate Certificate
  • Poster Ribbon noting them as a "Presidential Travel Award Winner

iSBTc Travel Awards

iSBTc will offer six travel awards to selected young investigators presenting a poster at the iSBTc 22nd Annual Meeting. Judging of the posters will be done by a committee of iSBTc leadership and Annual Meeting organizers.

(6) iSBTc Travel Award Winners receive:

  • Up to $750 in Travel Reimbursement
  • iSBTc Travel Award Winner Certificate
  • Poster Ribbon noting them as a "iSBTc Travel Award Winner"
