Young Investigator Awards

iSBTc supports growth and achievement among young investigators in the field of cancer biologics. In 2010, iSBTc will once again offer several Young Investigator Awards, recognizing excellence in oral abstract and poster presentations at the 25th Annual Meeting. Be sure to check the award eligibilty box when submitting abstracts online to be considered for an award.

Award Eligibility

To qualify for a Young Investigator Award, the primary/presenting author must meet the young investigator criteria:

  • Primary/Presenting author must be one of the following:
    • Student
    • Post doctoral research fellow
    • Clinical fellow
    • Junior faculty (instructor or assistant professor) with three (3) or less years (total from all institutions) on staff
  • Qualified individual must be listed as both the primary author and presenting author on the abstract.
  • Authors selected for oral presentations must be capable and comfortable presenting the abstract to a large audience and answering audience questions.
  • Individuals who have previously won the iSBTc Presidential Award are ineligible for the same award.

Presidential Awards

Four qualified abstracts submitted in any category will be selected. The authors of the chosen abstracts will receive Presidential Travel Awards and give 20-minute oral presentations during the Presidential Session held on Sunday, October 3. Of those abstract presenters, one will be selected as the 2010 Presidential Award recipient by a committee of members from the iSBTc Board of Directors. The recipient will be announced during the Sunday 25th Anniversary & Awards Reception.

  • $1,000 Honorarium
  • Up to $1,000 in Travel Reimbursement
  • 1-Year Membership in iSBTc
  • Commemorative Presidential Award Plaque
  • Up to $750 in Travel Reimbursement
  • 1-Year Membership in iSBTc
  • Presidential Award Travel Award Certificate
  • Presidential Travel Award Winner Poster Ribbon


iSBTc Travel Awards

 iSBTc will offer six travel awards to selected young investigators presenting a poster at the iSBTc 25th Annual Meeting. Selection of award recipients will be done by a committee of iSBTc leadership. Recipients will be notified prior to the meeting, but will be recognized during the Sunday 25th Anniversary & Awards Reception.

    (6) iSBTc Travel Award recipients will receive:
  • Up to $750 in Travel Reimbursement
  • iSBTc Travel Award Certificate
  • iSBTc Travel Award Winner Poster Ribbon
