Program Highlights

Global Regulatory Summit on Oncology Biologics Development
October 29, 2008 - San Diego, CA
Brings together leaders from world-wide regulatory agencies to give perspective and facilitate discussion on regulatory considerations in the development of oncology biologics products.

Countries Presenting:
USA, Canada, Europe, Japan, India, Switzerland, China

Summit Goals:

  • Discuss world-wide regulatory oversight including differences/similarities in regulatory approach
  • Discuss global regulatory considerations for product pre-clinical and clinical studies and clinical trial design/analysis issues
  • Establish dialogue between academia, regulatory bodies and industry regarding global implications and future direction of oncology biologics development

Hot Topic Symposium on Anti-CTLA-4
November 2, 2008 - San Diego, CA
iSBTc will host a symposium featuring invited speakers, panel discussion/debate and audience questions regarding "Anti-CTLA-4: Issues in Development and Regulatory Approval."

Plans for the symposium include:

  • Summarizing current results of clinical developments of anti-CTLA-4 antibodies
  • Understanding the complexity of regulatory issues and definition of outcome measures in cancer clinical trials utilizing biologicals
  • Improving the design and implementation of attendees' research-aimed preclinical or clinical development of immunological agents and biomarkers

There is no fee to attend this session, but registration is required.


Workshop on Cancer and Inflammation
October 30, 2008 - San Diego, CA
Small group, interactive workshop assembles thought-leaders in the field of cancer biologics to discuss inflammation and its role in cancer with an expected results publication following the program.

Workshop Goals:

  • Discuss the most recent updates on advances involving pro and anti-inflammatory agents
  • Clarify the relationship between chronic inflammation and cancer, promoting possible biologic therapies in combination with other agents
  • Discuss regulatory and legal issues surrounding cancer clinical trials involving pro and anti-inflammatory agents
